With the in-depth advancement of the integrated development of "culture + tourism", Wudang Mountain has recently welcomed a group of special guests. On May 4th, 20 foreign tourists from 10 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia and Brazil gathered at Wudang Mountain, embarking on a 10-day "Seeking Wisdom for Health Preservation" journey, experiencing the unique charm of Eastern wisdom through immersive experiences.
On the morning of May 6th, at a mountain inn in Wudang Mountain, foreign students dressed in traditional Tai Chi costumes were earnestly learning Wudang Tai Chi under the guidance of Gu Shining, the 15th-generation successor of the Wudang Sanfeng School.
Gu Shining explained the basic principles and philosophical connotations of Tai Chi to everyone in fluent English and carefully demonstrated the basic movements of Tai Chi. Under his guidance, the foreign trainees practiced each movement step by step, and Gu Shining patiently corrected everyone's postures. To the rhythm of the music, the trainees moved slowly and gradually merged into the rhythm of Tai Chi. From the initial awkwardness to the later smoothness, they experienced the physical and mental relaxation and pleasure brought by Tai Chi.
Martin, an e-commerce designer from Switzerland, runs a martial arts school in China. He said that he usually enjoys practicing Chinese martial arts very much, so he has always had a dream, which is to come to the birthplace of Tai Chi for in-depth practice. Studying in such a beautiful environment and place, I can feel the energy connecting to my heart. It brings me a state, making me feel peaceful, calm and serene. This is the best place to study. Martin said.
In the guqin class, the melodious sound of the silk strings reverberated in the valley, allowing foreign students to experience the aesthetic realm of "great sound conceals sound" in China. Claudia from Brazil remarked, "This wonderful feeling of being in nature allows me to blend perfectly with it." Such a beautiful environment. I really want to stay here.
According to Gu Shining, the director of Wudang Taoist Health Care Institute, the event organizer, in order to enable people from all over the world who love Taoist culture and Tai Chi to gather in Wudang Mountain and experience the essence of Wudang culture. Half a year ago, he and his Swiss disciples posted a message online, planning to hold a Wudang culture experience camp for the whole world on Wudang Mountain. After the news was released, it received an enthusiastic response from many foreign tourists who love Taoist culture and Tai Chi.
Most of them come from European and American countries, but there are also people signing up from countries like the Philippines in Asia, Egypt in Africa, and Colombia in South America. It was unexpected that people from almost every continent participated, which made me very happy. Gu Shining introduced that Bertelis from Colombia, in order to explore the true meaning of Taoism and find the root of Tai Chi, took flights to Madrid, Spain, Istanbul, Turkey, Beijing and Wuhan, China and other places successively, and finally arrived at Wudang Mountain by high-speed rail. This spirit of seeking knowledge is very touching.
Wudang Mountain is a very important IP that tells Chinese stories and conveys the Chinese voice. We will do our utmost to spread the profound and extensive culture of Wudang Mountain to more distant places. Gu Shining said that in mid-May, he will also organize foreign tourists to come to Wudang Mountain one after another to "seek health preservation".
It is understood that this event has carefully designed a rich array of cultural experience activities for foreign tourists. In addition to learning Wudang Tai Chi, there will also be lectures on Taoist philosophy, appreciation of the guqin, music therapy, and visits to the ancient architectural complex of Wudang Mountain, leading foreign tourists to deeply explore the core concepts and spiritual connotations of Wudang culture.
It is reported that since the beginning of this year, with the gradual recovery of China's inbound tourism market, Wudang Mountain has attracted foreign tourists from Singapore, France, Norway and other countries to visit and experience it with its unique natural scenery and profound cultural heritage. It not only provides a platform for foreign tourists to understand traditional Chinese culture, further enhancing the international reputation and influence of Wudang Mountain, but also injects new vitality into the construction and development of Wudang Mountain as a world-class tourist attraction.
